Lake Forest High School has always been an outstanding academic facility. People from all around the country, and even the world, relocate to this small town so that their children can have a great education.
Located in the center of a spoiled community, where you will literally pass more Bentley's than Police cars throughout the course of your day, Lake Forest High School (which once was a mansion, fitting right?) holds the city together.
Let's put academics to the side for now...
The atmosphere of the school, as well as the town, ignites come game time. Students pack together with the local citizens as they get ready to cheer on their SCOUTS. Not really known for producing a Michael Jordan, Adrian Peterson, or Derek Jeter, the High School still erupts once the starting whistle resonates through the air.
When we win (which isn't that often), the crowd goes nuts. During the next day at school, the hallways seem to have a certain swagger about them, as if the school itself is now copping some confidence.
I miss game days at the High School. I am not able to see many events here at ISU. I simply do not have the time to put everything down for 3 hours and watch sports. I try to stay as involved with sports as possible, but nothing will replace Friday night basketball games at LFHS.
