Flipping Out: Candid Camera

So right now I am watching the television show Flipping Out on the Bravo network. In a quick summary of the show, it shows the daily event/struggles/activities of a company who specializes in ‘flipping’ homes. The essence of ‘flipping’ a household involve purchasing a home in poor condition, renovating it to a state better than before, and then quickly putting it back on the market to make a profound profit. This business, if done properly, can be very lucrative.

Okay, beyond the synopsis of the show itself, this particular episode is quite disturbing in regards to disloyalty towards one’s boss/friend.

In this episode, we see an employee of the boss (named Jeff), Chris, lie to the boss about what he spends his days at the house doing. For the past couple weeks, Chris has been put to work to oversee the well-being of Jeff’s household, Jeff’s dogs, and anything dealing with the general upkeep of the property. As suspicion began to arise in Jeff’s mind that Chris was not doing a proper job with the tasks, Jeff secretly bought and instantly a hidden camera in his office (which is forbidden in itself, but Jeff thought Chris had been breaking that rule as well). Shockingly, Jeff was incredibly correct in his assumptions. The videotape revealed that Chris was simply NOT doing what he was being asked to do. From going into the office, to using his boss’ computer, to shuffling through his financial records, Chris was breaking every rule imaginable.

After Jeff confronted Chris with his viable evidence, Chris was fired.
